American Idol winner Fantasia Barrino 26, attempted to commit suicide by taking an overdose of sleeping tablets and aspirin. She was taken to hospital after she was found collapsed in her closet at home in North Carolina on Monday night. She was taken to the hospital and her condition is now stable. The overdose came after she was named in a divorce petition following an 11-month relationship with a married man. Paula Cook alleged that Fantasia's relationship with her husband Antwaun ended her marriage, claiming she had intimate video footage of the two together although Fantasia denied the allegations. Her spokesman Brian Dickens said Fantasia was 'heartbroken and is sorry for any pain she may have caused'. Speaking after her overdose he said she was 'overwhelmed with the lawsuit and the media attention'
