Here are the latest trends for 2013.
Punk Plaid: We’ll all be going bananas for plaid in 2013. Plaid can be very feminine and goes well with print. Dries Van Noten used plaid piled on plaid in soft, draped skirts and easy, chiffon blouses….. continue
Parkas: Parkas are the new biker Jacket. They not only keep you warm, can also be dressed down or up. Why not wear your parka over a silver, beaded dress and heels for a chic night look.
Spiky Stilettos: 2013 is not only about sturdy, chunky low heel, but it’s also about spiky stilettos for some of us who are vertically challenged and want to elongate our legs. People can’t wait to get hold of Victoria Beckham’s soft summery boots, which are designed to show off plenty of toe cleavage.
Floral Bags and anything mint: Mint is next summer’s key colour and believe it or not I don’t own anything in mint, it’s now in my wish list to look for a mint item. Statement handbags such as totes are must have bags for 2013
Lace Trousers and Beekeeper hats: Lace is never out of season. We first saw this trend with Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen who gave us lace beekeeper hats and unlined cropped lace trousers. Not sure if I this trend will be a hit for me.
Tunics over bell-bottom trousers: The thing I love about this look is that is so 70s. Tunic over trousers combo was seen at Gucci Spring Summer 2013 Milan Fashion Week. You need to be careful when wearing tunics they can be a little bit voluminous. When wearing tunics try as much as possible to wear it with a belt to give yourself some sort of shape. Bell bottoms are a little bit out our comfort zones as we are more used to slim line, skinny styles.
Capes over swimsuits: Burberry Prorsum sent capes over swimsuits for its spring/Â summer collection, and I wonder if the shape will dribble down to the High Street.
Great Gatsby Chic: 1920s style will be one of the biggest trends next year. Velvet jackets, straight shifts covered in beads and fringing are so in 2013
