image: stagedrop 26 Jesus also said, “The Kingdom of God is like a farmer who scatters seed on the ground.27 Night and day, while he’s asleep or awake, the seed sprouts and grows, but he does not understand how it happens. 28 The earth produces the crops on its own. First a leaf blade pushes through, then the heads of wheat are formed, and finally the grain ripens. 29 And as soon as the grain is ready, the farmer comes and harvests it with a sickle, for the harvest time has come.†NLT). This can be compared to what we go through in life before getting what God has promised us or before reaching maturity in our walk with Jesus. The first stage, I will call it I don’t know stage. This is when your seed is in the ground and you don’t know what is happening to it or when it will produce a harvest, bearing in mind that this stage is entirely up to God all you need to do is believe and have faith in God that it will produce a harvest someday. The second stage is a blade i.e. relieve, even though it’s tiny it’s enough to encourage and letting you know that the answer is on the way. The third stage is the head, when it’s starting to look like what you have been praying for is about to be answered. At this stage you need to carry on praying just because the heads have appeared it doesn’t mean nothing can go wrong. Keep on watering it with prayer, fertilising it with God’s word and protecting it from any negative force that would try to uproot it. Finally is the ripening stage. This is when you need to put in the sickle because your harvest has come and it’s very crucial to recognise your harvest season and reap it. My prayer to you is whatever stage you’re at today, stand on God’s promise and keep trusting and believing him and He’ll not disappoint you. |
