Most of the time we end up getting caught up in our day to day chores and we sometimes forget about putting God’s kingdom before our own needs. (Matthew 6:33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well) We have completely forgotten about this verse that if we seek first his kingdom and his righteousness all other things will fall into places. That’s why some of us struggles with so many things because we haven’t set our priorities right. It’s my prayer today that we all seek his face and not his hand and I’m sure God will surprise us. Here are a few things that we should consider when it comes to putting God’s kingdom first, and ask yourself how you measure up
Obedience to God – (Matthew 5:19 whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven).
- Love – especially your enemies (Matthew 5:44-46 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; 45That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. 46For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?)
- Righteousness – Hungry & thirst for righteousness(Matthew 5:6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled)
- Peace– (Matthew 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God)
- Holy living – through your deeds (Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven).
- Integrity – (Matthew 5:37 But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil)
- Generosity – Giving of gifts to people (Matthew 6:2-4 Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 3But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: 4That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.
- Spiritual wholeness – (Matthew 16:26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?)
- Biblical Knowledge – know what your bible says about God and the promises He has for you. (Matthew 22:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God)
- Faith in God – With faith all things are possible (Matthew 17:20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. (Matthew 19:26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.)
- Blessing people – Jesus healed, trained and served others, you also should do likewise.
- Disciple making – According to Jesus this was the only agenda worth living for and dying for (Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost)
How do you measure up so far? Remember it’s not by your own power but by the power of the Holy Spirit ask him to help you and he will respond to you plea. Stay blessed y’all
